Biography of Pastor Silber
Timothy P. Silber was born in Minneapolis on November
13, 1954, to John and Betty Silber. He resided in the greater Minneapolis
area along with his four brothers until his graduation from Edina East
High school in 1973.
He then attended Bethany Lutheran College until 1975.
The University of Minnesota was his next stop, and he graduated from there
with a double major in Philosophy and Child Psychology in 1978.
Bethany Lutheran Theological Seminary was where he studied
for two years before transferring to Concordia Seminary in St. Louis.
His vicarage was at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Redwood City, California
under the supervision of The Rev. Dr. John P. Uhlig. Pastor Silber graduated
from Concordia in 1984. During that time he met Kathleen Riley and married
her in November, 1984.
Through this marriage he has been able to enjoy
the company of Steve (born January 1,1974) and Anne (born January 10,1976).
Steve is a Computer Science major at the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
Ann is an Ancient Languages major at Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky.
Kathy Silber was most recently a Child Evangelism Fellowship Area Director
for a tri-county area in Wisconsin. She also has had experience as an
elementary education teacher and librarian.
After his ordination on July 19, 1987, Pastor Silber began his ministry
as Associate Pastor at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Delavan, Wisconsin,
where he served until accepting the Divine Call to St. Mark's.
Pastor Silber enjoys various sports, as well as doing
research on issues of psychological and ethical significance.
